Key duties and responsibilities:
To define and own main Structural Frames components and their integration into vehicle from early concept phase to industrialization and production; that includes:
Front Frame and all related components and relative integration
Engine Frame and all components related and relative integration
Rear Frame and all related components and relative integration
Lead a small team of engineers and external partners to deliver Body Structural Frames components on time into production according to target cost, package, mass, functionality, and quality
Maintain and support de-bug activities for current and future Body Structural Frames, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
Main reference figure for Body Structural Frames components for feasibility, functionality, and resolution of technical issues
Manage physical testing and prototype evaluation of hardware components
Engage with main external suppliers and manage costs and timings, and ensuring program milestones are met, including evaluation of RFQ responses to influence management decisions
Develop and ensure cross-functionality with other R&D departments to achieve vehicle requirements
Engage with the product development process to understand the impact of design/engineering decisions
Evaluate competitor benchmark information to improve concept definition in early project phase
Establish regular design reviews with cross functional teams
Support Functional Safety and Cyber Security, Intellectual properties, and patents within R&D team
Collaborative definition of methodology and release of standards related to durability and reliability with analysis team
Be a team player, train and coach all the team members and share the knowledge throughout the Body Structural Frames Team
Qualification & Experience:
Previous proved experience in same or similar position within an automotive or automotive components supplier on Body Structural Frames design, preferably on Sport (Supercar and Hypercar) and low volume car
Engineering Degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent
Experience on all relevant vehicle legislation and certification requirements for related automotive components and systems
Experience of delivering Body Structural Frames systems components from early design stage to series production. At least with one complete project developed from the concept phase to the final start up
Proven experience in tracking and planning of technical subjects, tooling processes and variable/investment costs
In-depth Body Structural Frames systems knowledge: Materials selection, Aluminum Extrusion and Casting, Structural Composite materials, Additive material, Joining strategy with structural capability, Location strategy, Assembly strategies, Structural behavior, Benchmarking, Innovation related the field, all Technology availability, Perceived and component quality, Parts lifetime stability, Structural Design beatification
Leading and developing Staff
Working across functional teams effectively to deliver viable problem resolution
High experience on CAD modelling software
Excellent team player and communicator, able to work effectively with cross functional teams
Ability to organize multiple technical inputs, summarize and present to the top management
Strong problem-solving skills, along with an ability to manage a varied workload, to tight deadlines
Relevant written and verbal communication skills
Able to work at a fast pace and with a high degree of accuracy and flexibility
