The Control Systems Integration Lead Engineer reports to the Head of Control Systems Integration and is expected to lead the cross-functional integration of innovative Control Systems, aiming to offer class leading attributes and customer experience from the perspective of vehicle performance, efficiency, durability and reliability.
1. Work tasks and responsibilities:
System-engineering Control Systems and capturing the cross-functional Mechatronics implications as lead software and hardware (SW & HW) integrator of the Control Systems department.
Defining the Aerodynamics, Chassis, Powertrain actuation HW requirements through the integration of appropriate control strategies and though Engineering Specification via target cascade processes.
Cascading the E/E architecture requirements that deliver optimal Controls Systems performance.
Leading the implementation of SW development processes according to the ISO26262 Functional Safety standards and managing the delivery the associated documentation and validation needs.
Managing the application of Control Systems across the platform portfolio and representing the Control Systems department as single point of contact for all Legal & Compliance matters.
Orchestrating the verification and validation of Control Systems at system and vehicle level.
Supporting the development and delivery of embedded software through virtual and physical Proof-Of-Concept of the proposed solutions and subsequent industrialization.
Supporting the definition of the Control Systems Roadmap for autonomy-related requirements and autonomy-enabled features relevant to the current and future platform portfolio.
Support the Head of Strategy in setting and managing objectives & targets for the team.
Liaise with Tier 1 suppliers for SW and HW of Control Systems and academic research partners.
Adhere to investment and piece costs targets in line with the business cycle plan.
Broad engineering experience within the Automotive/Motorsport industry and proven record in delivering innovative solutions, preferably for Active Chassis and/or Hybrid/EV Powertrain.
Excellent understanding of Mechatronics, prior involvement in integral HW & SW Engineering Specification and Design Verification Process of Control systems, ideally in leading role.
Experience and thorough understanding of mainstream automotive HW and SW development processes and full awareness of Legislative Compliance requirements.
Broad and hands-on experience of FMEA & FuSa processes and robust problem resolution.
Fully committed to applying the V-process and proficient in using simulation tools and advanced analysis techniques for data post-processing, from vehicle to component ES cascade and component to vehicle verification loops.
Strong time management, accuracy, diligence, ability to balance multiple tasks.
Thorough of Vehicle Performance and attributes in areas such Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, etc.
Understanding of Automotive Cybersecurity and ISO/SAE21434 would be desirable.
Understanding of requirements capture process and tools such as Polarion/Doors.
Systems-Engineering thinking and comprehension of interdependencies, experience with relevant tools, e.g., SysML, and understanding of multidisciplinary simulation tools.
Automotive/Motorsport industry experience, ideally both OEM and Tier 1.
Engineering Degree in appropriate discipline e.g., Mechatronics.
Competence is using data acquisition and post-processing tools.
Full EU driving license, ideally Proving Ground B permit
