We are looking for a Control Systems Engineer that will develop control systems and corresponding state estimation algorithms which enhance the performance, safety and comfort of multi-motor electric and hybrid vehicles. The key to successful control system design is also understanding the vehicle behavior at a higher, system level, as well as the interactions between various vehicle systems.

 

In addition to achieving specific performance targets, vehicle control must also produce a superior driver feeling. You will work closely with test drivers on automotive proving grounds and racetracks where you will validate and tune your software.

 

1. Responsibilities:

 

  • Developing control algorithms for electric and hybrid vehicles and their components
  • Developing state estimation algorithms for electric and hybrid vehicles and their components
  • Developing mathematical models of dynamic systems in the vehicle
  • Performing Model-in-the-loop and Hardware-in-the-loop testing
  • Validating control algorithms on the vehicle
  • Analysis of test data
  • Documenting test results and producing technical documentation
  • Communicating and coordinating with people of different technical backgrounds (e.g. mechanical and electrical engineers, test engineers, test drivers etc.)
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required

 

2. Requirements:

 

  • Knowledge of Vehicle dynamics and automotive systems
  • Knowledge of classical and non-linear control theory
  • Knowledge of system identification techniques
  • Knowledge of linear and non-linear estimation techniques
  • Experience with model-based-design in MATLAB Simulink
  • Practical / Hands-on experience with controllers
  • Understanding the dynamics of mechanical, electrical, and thermal systems and experience in modelling these
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Good knowledge of English in writing and speaking

 

 3.Considered as an advantage

 

  • Experience with hybrid powertrain control systems
  • Experience with chassis control systems
  • Knowledge of optimization algorithms
  • Experience with Model Predictive Control
  • Experience in working with automotive systems such as ABS, ESC, TCS, cruise control, creep, and one[1]pedal drive.
  • Experience with IPG CarMaker, VI Grade and similar software
  • Experience working with CAN bus protocols 
  • Understanding of ISO-26262 Standard
  • Experience in version control (git)
  • Experience in requirements and test management
