We are looking for an experienced Aerodynamics Lead Engineer who will manage the Aerodynamics group of engineers within the Bugatti Rimac Aero-Thermal Team, helping us to improve and broaden our capabilities in virtual and experimental development while crafting the edge of the automotive industry. 


Aerodynamics Team is a multi-disciplinary group of enthusiastic engineers working in a cross-functional environment between Research&Development and Design, with responsibility in external aerodynamics and aeroacoustics, active aerodynamic systems design and strategy, underhood and brakes thermal management as well as the cabin thermal comfort. 


Besides technical knowledge and experience within the field of aerodynamics we are looking for a very proactive colleague that is capable of leading a development team and has good supporting, defining and communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment with minimal supervision. 

1. Responsibilities:

  • Organize, plan and deliver results in fields of aerodynamics and aeroacoustics, aerothermal (brakes and underhood thermal management) and cabin comfort 

  • Define, develop and evaluate targets and requirements 

  • Plan and perform numerical and experimental activities 

  • Distribute workload within Aerodynamics team 

  • Make decisions on development steps, timing and priorities 

  • Suggest improvements in targets, concepts, design geometry, strategy, tools, processes and methodologies 

  • Write technical reports, presentations and organize meetings 

  • Communicate requirements and results, discuss, align and closely collaborate with management, R&D teams and Design 

  • Apply new methodologies and processes 

  • Support and mentor less experienced engineers 


2. Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in automotive industry in field of aerodynamics (numerical and experimental methods) 

  • Experience in CFD analysis: aerodynamics and aeroacoustics, aerothermal analysis (underhood thermal management, brake cooling, cabin thermal comfort) 

  • A strong grasp of Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer 

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Good communication, reporting and organizational skills 

  • Good knowledge of English (written and spoken) 

  • Commit to project plan and deliverables 


3. Considered as an advantage: 

  • Previous Team Lead or Lead Engineer experience (team formation and leadership) 

  • Master’s degree or above in Aerodynamics, Aerospace or other relevant engineering discipline 

  • Automotive or Motorsport experience in development of high-performance vehicles 

  • Applied experience in OpenFOAM and PowerFlow 

  • Experience in HyperMesh (or other geometry clean-up/preparation tools) 

  • Experience with CAD software 3D Experience/Catia 

  • Good programming skills and previous experience with C++, MATLAB, Python, Linux 

  • Experience in development of active aerodynamic systems
